TNT raises Bar, saves Grace

Original programming is going just fine at TNT, thank you very much. The network launched in 1988, but only got the hang of producing new shows in the last few years.

After a series of missteps--anyone remember Saved or Wanted?--TNT is two-for-two with new programming, not including its stellar The Closer. Saving Grace was received positively when it debuted in 2007, and Raising the Bar has done just fine this year.

Academy Award winner Holly Hunter stars in this TNT drama series about a police detective with an emotional crisis living in Oklahoma City. A respected officer, Grace Hanadarko can't seem to run her personal life with the same sort of finesse she has in the field. In 2008 the series was nominated for a Saturn Award for "Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series" and actress Holly Hunter was nominated for a Saturn Award for "Best Actress on Television" for her role as Grace Hanadarko. In 2008 Holly Hunter was nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" for her role as Grace. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama" and was nominated for a Screen Actor's Guild Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series". In 2008 Dylan Minnette was nominated for and won the "Best Performance in a TV Series - Young Actor Ten or Under" for his role as Clay.
