  • Brilliant interpretation, poignant yet never melodramatic, Saving Grace at its best

    "Superb"
This is one of the best episodes yet. With a lot falling into place and yet still a lot to understand. The season culminates with Grace in a situation where she can't shrug off Earl/God's nudges any more, and poignant revelations ensue.

I loved the character development, the interpretation was brilliant, and the scene between Reta and Grace in the field was one that I wish today's writers, bent on "creating emotion" as they are yet too often falling flat, would study from. Without overdoing it, Grace's writers got a perfect balance, going through what could have easily become a seedy or over-dramatized scene, and managed to let us know more about Grace's demons without betraying the character's complexity and strength (meaning they didn't turn her into a mushy mess!)

With only a few words they also managed to create strong and compelling scenes between the characters, for instance Grace and her priest brother Johnny, changing the focus of their relationship ever so sightly, all with finesse.

This was quite probably the most exciting episode to date! It fills in a lot of the back-story info and fills out several of the characters and will have you saying "OH MY GOD" several times as well! And then the end of the episode will leave you wondering just what the hell happened.

One of the best cliffhanger endings I have seen in a long time. I personally hope Grace retains her humanity and her soul. You have gotta see this one for yourself and then you be the judge.... GREAT EPISODE (Writers, You deserve both kudos and a raise!)moreless

    • Earl's t-shirt, when he shows Grace his tattoo, says Mazel Tov, which means congratulations in Hebrew (the literal translation is actually good luck, but it isn't used in that context). Edit
    • Grace: All the crap you left me, like breadcrumbs. And I followed them just like you planned. The reference to "breadcrumbs" comes from the children's story Hänsel und Gretel adapted by Brothers Grimm. In the story, the two children left behind a trail of breadcrumbs, so they could find their way back home. Edit
