  • Grace turning viciously on her aunt after hearing of her affair is hypocritical.

I enjoy the show. I like watching ballsy lady cops, IF they can pull it off, and Hunter can (though she's gawdawful small to be manhandling perps, needs one of those expanding-saps). Since I'm a fantasy fan I like the angel-angle. I'm not real crazy about Grace screwing any thing in pants, but I guess that's part of the character that Earl-The-Angel is there to rescue. After her aunt confesses that she had an affair with Grace's father, there is a pregnant pause (to make us all wonder how Grace is going to respond). I sure got a surprise. Grace turned on her dying auntie like a poisonous viper - no understanding, no compassion, no regard for the special aunt-niece relationship they'd always had. I WAS vastly surprised, always a good thing when watching tv dramas. But I felt kinda betrayed by the Grace character I'd built up in my own mind. How can she be so judgmental when, as I mentioned, she is doing her best to break up her partner's marriage? I suppose this DOES richen her character, making it not so predictable. Certainly not lovable.moreless
  • some secrets need to go with the dead...

Just a bunch of bull. Grace's favorite super rich rancher calls her up pissed off that his priced bull statue that was also his good luck charm. He makes a deal with Grace that if she finds it all previous debts will be forgotten. That did not go over with her at all. The family is gathering to remember the loss of Grace's sister in the Oklahoma City bombing. One of the people who shows up in Grace's aunt who we find out taught her a lot of the bad habits that she has now. She tells Grace that she is dying and wants to confess to Grace's mother that she had an affair with Grace's father. This sends Grace over the edge and kicks her out of her life for good.moreless
  • Grace and the team investigate the theft of a bronze bull statue. Grace gets a visit from her aunt who has startling news. Ham and Grace continue their affair

i thought this episode was brilliant. so grace's favorite perverted person to knock out asks for the help of the department to find his lucky bronze bull statue. that in itself was pretty amusing, but i thought for sure Grace was going to knock him out again at the end. so we find out that grace has more family than just her church faithful brother and dead sister. when i watched the previews for this episode, i thought grace was going to be told she has cancer or something. i thought GRACE was the one dying. so her psychic aunt comes into town on a visit, and tells grace that a guy named Earl will be in her life forever. i thought that was hilarious. i was sad the way grace reacted when she found out her aunt had an affair with grace's father, but i guess there wasn't any other way to react. especially since her father is dead. the scene in the bar where grace spit in her her aunt's face and got smacked for it, i was like "no come on guys". then grace arrested her aunt and threw her in the cell...but where is she now? did grace actually persuade her to go back to Amarillo without talking to anyone? and then there's this scene at the end with grace and...was Henry his name? he's mourning the loss of his cat Molly, and he drives grace home, and grace decide's to sleep with him? what the hell girl come on, i don't think that's right really. 1. that's kind of taking advantage of him while he's in a vulnerable state (even though she's in one herself) 2. she's cheating on Ham in a sense, even though he's cheating on his wife...then she stands up and see's herself in all these mirrors. i thought that part was well written. it was like saying "there, how dare you pass judgement on your aunt, or anyone else when take a look at yourself, you're doing basically the same thing. you're not much better." i can't wait to see next week's episode, that one looks even more exciting, especially with a preview of grace's friend Rhetta throwing a drink in grace's face....i wonder what grace did to make her so mad.moreless
