Loved this episode! Can't wait for next week's! I'm glad that Cyrus is back in the President's good graces! I prefer Cyrus' type of sneaky and underhanded to Mellie's any day. Jake definitely was creepy at first but now his creepiness is starting to at least make sense. He'll be a good distraction for Olivia. Oh, and I knew that guy was in love with his brother's sister. It was so obvious. But it was still fun seeing how it all played out.moreless

They traumatized my boy! If I could I would water board every last one of those SOBs that hurt him. But overall good episode. Found Jake to be creepy on several different levels but its a change, so I like that.

    • Olivia: (talking about his brother's wife) End it. Now.
      Will: I don't know what you're talking--
Olivia: I saw you. End it.
Will: I don't care how much we're paying you. You have no right to insert yourself into a private family... I can't. It's too late.
      Olivia: Why?
Will: Because I love her. The day Pete brought her home ten years ago, I wasn't even supposed to be there. I was supposed to be on a plane. Sometimes I wonder,if I had just been somewhere else... We denied it for months, because that's what you do. You deny it. You pretend it's not happening. You pretend it's all above board and it's appropriate, and the next thing you know, you're having sex in the coat closet at your brother's engagement dinner. Pete loves her. She's his wife. And she and I... well, we have what we have. It might not be much, but it's what we have.
Olivia: You have nothing. You have a pile of secrets and lies, and you're calling it love. And in the meantime, you're letting your whole life pass you by, while they raise children and celebrate anniversaries and grow old together. You're frozen in time. You're holding your breath. You're a statue waiting for something that's never going to happen. Living for stolen moments in hotel hallways and coat closets, you keep telling yourself they all add up to something real, because in your mind they have to, but they don't. They won't. They never will. Because stolen moments aren't a life. So you have nothing. You have no one. End it now.

    • Cyrus: (about Fitz taking advice from Mellie) She's got him. He looks to her. He leans on her. He's her guy now.
Olivia: Maybe that's how it should be. She's his wife. She's the mother of his children.
Cyrus: This is Mellie we're talking about. Whatever you feel about Fitz, whatever happened, leaving him to Mellie... that is low, Liv.
      Olivia: Cyrus.
Cyrus: Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. It's just... I almost don't know who I am without him. It's like... I don't know what to do with my hands, and she's shoving me out the door. I can't figure out how to fight her.
Olivia: Let Mellie be. That's how you fight her. Don't overthink it. Just let Mellie be. Let Mellie do what Mellie's going to do. When it comes to Fitz, Mellie's her own worst enemy. Eventually, she's going to go to far and cross him. You just need to be there when she does.

    • Jake: (about Olivia) Fitz, my professional opinion is she seems harmless, so unless this is personal...
Fitz: You're watching tapes and looking at photos. You don't know her. Olivia Pope is not what she seems.
      Jake: Of course. I didn't mean... I'm s--
Fitz: I didn't mean to... It's just I'm... She's not a good person. Not the way you think. And this isn't personal. Nothing about this is personal.

    • Fitz: (talking about the surveillance on Olivia) How is she?
Jake: She's good. Quiet. Makes my job easy. Spends most of her time working. She took up swimming recently.
Fitz: (chuckling) She was on the swim team in high school.
      Jake: Sir?
      Fitz: Nothing. What else?
Jake: She reads a lot, watches the news... a lot. She doesn't sleep enough. She's...
      Fitz: What?
Jake: She's unhappy. She doesn't date. I think maybe the break up with Senator Davis might have been hard on her.
Fitz: I don't think so. I know Davis. He was serious. She wasn't.
Jake: If you don't mind my asking, we've made the jump from photo surveillance to vide surveillance.
      Fitz: That's not a question.
      Jake: I was wondering why.
      Fitz: I have my reasons.

    • Olivia: I'm so sorry. This is not... I'm not a late person, and I don't want you to think that this meeting isn't a priority.
      Jake: It's a date.
      Olivia: What?
Jake: You said "meeting". I'm not a client. I don't have a problem. I don't need fixing. I asked you out. You said yes. We dressed up. At the end of the evening, if all goes well, there will be... kissing. This is not a meeting. This is a date. And I don't want to insult you. You chose this restaurant. I'm sure the food is very good. But this is not a date restaurant. We can't have a date here. This is where dates go to die.
