The episode was jammed pack with emotion. Watching Olivia finally get her just desserts for rigging the election made me feel sorry for her and want to slap her for being so stupid. I totally understood Fritz's anger and disappointment at Olivia. All the actors stepped up their game for this episode. So many surprises, David & Abby's blowup, Fritz & Verna in the hospital, and Quinn & Huck. I am completely hooked on this show. I hope to God, this show gets some Emmy love come September.moreless

    • Verna: (at her hospital bed)You are not the President.
Fitz: What are you talking about?
Verna: Defiance county. Hollis Doyle rigged the voting machines. We all knew. We all helped cover it up.
      Fitz: "We"?
Verna: Don't you pretend you don't know who. You're naive. You're pampered. You sail through life clueless as a child. But you are not stupid.
Fitz: Mellie. Cyrus. (Verna makes a gesture to keep going) Olivia?

    • Olivia: (at Verna's funeral)Hi.
      Fitz: Hello.
Olivia: I'm sure your eulogy will be wonderful. You always find the perfect words.
      Fitz: Did you need something?
Olivia: I just wanted to say... I gave the ring back. Told Edison I won't marry him. I'll wait for you, Fitz. For as long as you need.
Fitz: Oh that... I changed my mind about that.
      Olivia: What?
      Fitz: Don't wait for me.
      Olivia: Fitz--
Fitz: I don't know what I was thinking... Screwing your mistress is one thing, but marrying her? That's political suicide. Really? I mean... you believe that my presidency is more important than anything else, right? You must. You've worked so hard to get me here.

    • Edison: (knocking at Olivia's door) Uhm... I thought you'd like a ride to the funeral.
Olivia: I have a car coming, so...
Edison: Liv... (Olivia doesn't answer) So that's it? We are done?
Olivia: I... I have your grandmother's ring. I kept it safe right here.
Edison: I've given you this ring twice, and both times you gave it back.
      Olivia: Edison...
Edison: Tell me you don't want to be married. Tell me that being a senator's wife is too much. Tell me that you don't want a family. Tell me why I've been wasting my time. Tell me something!
Olivia: I'm sorry. Edison, I'm really sorry. I could marry you. I could be a senator's wife. I'd probably be happy. I could probably give all this up and live in a country house and have babies and be normal... I could. But I don't want to! I'm not built for it. I don't want normal, and easy, and simple. I want... I want--
Edison: What? What?! What do you want, Olivia?
Olivia: I want painful, difficult, devastating, life changing, extraordinary love. Don't you want that too?
Edison: Love is not supposed to be painful or devastating. Love isn't supposed to hurt, Liv.

    • Cyrus: Fancy seeing you down here.
      Mellie: Why?
Cyrus: You have a new baby.
Mellie: You have a new baby and you're at work.
      Cyrus: Yes, but...
      Mellie: ... but you're a man.
Cyrus: I was trying to find a nice way to say "Yes, but I don't like babies".
      Mellie: Nobody likes babies.

    • Fitz: So even if you do marry Edison, I'm divorcing her. It'll take some time. She'll fight me. It may even take the rest of my presidency, but I am getting out of this marriage.
Olivia: And I'm supposed to do what? Wait for you?
Fitz: This isn't theoretical anymore, Liv. It's real. Say you'll wait for me. We love each other. We belong together. Just say it. Say... (starts kissing her) you'll... wait... for... me. Wait for me, Olivia.
      Olivia: I'll think about it.
