      • Lee: Amanda, where was this PTA of yours Las Vegas?

      • Dotty: Let me ask you a question.
        Amanda: What is it?
Dotty: Why are you wearing that when you are going to see a documentary on tractors?
        Amanda: It's the premiere.
Dotty: Oh I see and a date with Lee Stetson.
        Amanda: Good night mother.
Dotty: On a scale from one to ten he's an eleven and my daughter doesn't want to date him. Ah... my daughter's crazy.

      • Lee: Alright then. What's the standard procedure in a case like this?
Amanda: Standard procedure? Well that would be to assemble a personal profile through interviews and, um, surveillance of locations frequented by the subject.
Lee: In this case, the Kenley Club. I will pick you up at eight.
        Amanda: You don't have to.
Lee: Amanda. We're talking about my future mother-in-law right? Besides I might get lucky.
        (Amanda laughs)

      • (After Dotty comes home early—Lee runs out and Amanda tries to make it look like she had been home alone by grabbing a book of the shelf.)
Dotty: Did you have a nice evening?
Amanda: Oh yeah. It's pretty quiet, just me and my popcorn and my book.
Dotty: You know you're a lot like I am. You love to read a good dictionary.

    • NOTES (2)

      • The movie that Lee and Amanda are watching is Valley of the Gwangi. When the episode was filmed, Kate Jackson and Bruce Boxleitner were staring at an empty screen--the movie was added later. Rumor has it that the production office decided to have a little fun and put in a movie that didn't require such intense looks from the two actors.

      • This episode was filmed before Santa's Got a Brand New Bag which led to a couple of bloopers when it was shown. In Santa's Got a Brand New Bag, Lee met both boys and was referred to by Dotty as "Amanda's boyfriend." Yet, in this episode Dotty wonders why Amanda doesn't want to date Lee and Philip introduces himself to Lee.
