  • Karasuma is so strange.

    9.4
In the first part the group is all sitting on a bus, and Tenma wants to sit next to Karasuma while Harima wants to sit next to Tenma. In the end both Tenma and her blonde friend get sick, and Harima ends up riding with old people, sitting with pigs, and hitch hiking. In the second part we discover about Yakumo's unique gift to read the minds of guys that like her, and her sister Tenma. She is also quite fond of Tenma, even thought she is a bit strange. In the last part Tenma wants to share an umbrella with Karasuma (which is a symbol of love) but Karasuma already has a rain coat, and it shows he is obsessed with turtles. Very weird. But another superb episode.moreless
  • Neat!

    9.0
The class is going on a field trip, and Tenma wants to sit next to Karasuma, However, Harima wants to sit next to Tenma. It ends with Harima sitting with Karasuma though, and Tenma is sitting on the next row, not being able to communicate with them (seeing how they play cards).

Ah, and Harima goes on the wrong bus, and has quite the funny adventure getting to their bus. However, he just ends up having to hitch a ride in the wilderness.

Okay, then it suddenly switches to a story about Tenma's little sister (who actually look like she's the older one). Very sudden, but that's one of the things I like about this anime; how there is so many things going on in every episode. Anyway, the part about Tenma's sister was really cute, and so was the next part about Tenma wanting to walk with Karasuma under an umbrella. Well, that was funny as well.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • The Tsukamoto sisters eat a dish called banana daifuku. Daifuku is a soft rice cake usually stuffed with sweetened bean jam. Banana daifuku would contain bananas instead. Tenma ends up not liking it, but on the other hand, Yakumo finds it delicious.

    • The black cat eventually becomes Yakumo and Tenma's pet and is named Iori.

    • Cats Go Meow! is the first short story that is centered around Yakumo.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Yakumo: (After seeing Tenma trip) Nee-san?
Tenma: Oh, it was just a lunch box for a cat. I definetly thought it was love.
      Yakumo: Love? It's a cat...
      Tenma: No, it's nothing.

    • Tenma: Go! Go! Fight, Yakumo!
      Yakumo: I'm going now.
Tenma: Yakumo's finally in love, huh? I'll watch over it fondly. But, unlike me, she's naive. She might get tricked by a bad man... I'm worried.

    • Tenma: Huh? There are three lunch boxes? Yakumo, me, and... wait! Could it be for someone she likes?

    • Yakumo: (to the cat) Sometimes, I can read what's in people's hearts. So I wondered... if I could read what your heart would say. But I guess… a cat's heart always says "meow". Too bad.

  • NOTES (3)

    • This episode is the first to feature Karasuma's odd obsession with kappas.

    • Unlike most boys, whose thoughts are usually different from what they are actually saying, Hanai's thoughts are almost perfectly synchronized with the words he speaks.

    • It is revealed in this episode that Yakumo can read the minds of boys who have feelings for her. This would explain why Yakumo does not associate with males. She can also read the thoughts of her sister, Tenma.
