Professor Emmanuel Raffalo from the first episode makes a cameo appearance in Shaggy's flashback.
Jackson is right-handed just like Sheriff Bronson and Melvin, but when she shows the box with her on it, she's holding the ladle with her left hand.
The dream mazes in which the victims find themselves when they are asleep are similar to the ones that appear in the movie in the 1986 film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie, Jennifer Connely and Toby Froud, and directed by Jim Henson.
Scooby calling Shaggy 'Shagdalf' is a reference name to Gandalf from "The Lord of the Rings".
The human archer, the elf wizard, and the axe dwarf fighting a horde of goblins is from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers".
Dungeons and Dragons
The fantasy RPG game Crypts and Creepers is an obvious parody to the famous RPG game Dungeons and Dragons created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in 1974.
