  • Look out! Here come the Boo Brothers!!!

When one night Shaggy gets a letter telling him that his Uncle Beauregard has passed away and has left him his whole fortune, Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy head to Lousiana, in search of the fortune, although Shaggy does not believe that it really exists.

Unfortunately, when they get to the Beauregard plantation, they see that troubles are on their way. They are chased by the Ghost of the Colonel, a Headless Horseman, a Ghost Wolf, a Skeleton Ghost, and finally, a Giant Ape, who escaped from a circus train... Not only that, Shaggy has to escape from Saddie Mae Scroggins, who thinks he's a cutie and wishes to marry him, and her brother Billy Bob Scroggins, who wants to kill him.

They try to get away, but when Shaggy's truck sinks into the mud, they have no other choice, but to stay there for the night. Seeing that there are ghosts who are trying to kill them, or telling them to leave the plantation, Shaggy decides to call the Boo Brothers, a trio of ghosts who are specialized in busting ghosts (even though they are not best ones...). As the Boo Brothers try to catch all the ghosts, Shaggy finds out that the fortune is real, when they find a giant diamond and a clue, saying that to get the rest of the family's fortune, they have to follow a series of clues, which will lead them directly to the treasure. The story is very well written, and although it is not part of the Scooby-Doo canon, it's definetly one of the best of its kind. There's action, comedy and mystery for all ages and tastes. The voice cast is amazing, having Casey Kasem as Shaggy, and Mel Blanc as Scooby-doo, as well as Sorrell Booke as the Sheriff. The only problem with it is the fact that neither Fred, or Daphne or Velma are in it, and it is not explained why they do not appear in the movie. In a scale 1 to 10, I give it a 1000!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • QUOTES (0)

  • NOTES (2)

    • When Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy pass through the secret passage that leads them to wine cellar and they get trapped behind it, Freako appears in front of them, using his scary face. Now, in that scene he's not recognized by anyone, but in the next scene you find out that it's him, because he's wearing his hat (while in the previous scene, he was not wearing ii).

    • Shaggy's Uncle Beauregard is implied to have been a Confederate Colonel. This is not possible, because the film is most likely set in 1987 (the same year it was released in), and if Uncle Beauregard had died around 1987, he would have been at least 140 years old (assuming he was commissioned at 20 years old on the last day of the Civil War).
