maybe you guys are going in too deep... the writers probably don't even care, and they probably make fun of you of trying to analyze all of this with such passion

Well, according to the commentary on "My Old Lady", continuity is very important to BL. Of course after 135 episodes it's probably harder to keep it all together than it was at the beginning.

However, Sarah Chalke said on one of the commentaries at NBC.com (might have been "My Musical" but I'm not sure) that she's always amazed by how much fans remember that she's forgotten--i.e. we all pick up on continuity errors that slip through the cracks after 6 years worth of episodes.

So maybe you're right, rubik, maybe not... but it's still fun to discuss.

Not that this was a Scrubs tattoo question, but rather an actor but I find it funny with the recurring tattoo jokes on Scrubs. The Janitor has a tattoo of a mop, JD says he got a tattoo once (but he really just got his face painted like a cougar), Kelso has the name Johnny tattooed on his butt (They were old army buddies and if we went through what they did, we'd understand) and so on. What other recurring themes do you guys like about Scrubs?

I like how there's never any surgery to watch. I like to pretend there's a porn mag sitting there, just to try to throw the actors off.

Even better when an actor says "Did you hit the colon?" Or "Oh, there's aLoT of blood"

Completely out of context, but I have a question:

Could somebody please explain this whole Wolverine stuff to me? I have no idea what it is about and as it's mentioned often in the show I'd really like to know some stuff:

What exactly is a Wolverine? In which movie(s) were they? What on earth has Hugh Jackman to do with it?

Thanks in advance for your help. I guess it's something a lot of people know, but I really haven't heard of it (girl, German )

Well, in My Heavy Meddle, Elliot and Turk watch Red Dawn, a movie with Wolverines in it. In later episodes when Cox hates Hugh Jackman, J.D. gets defensive because he apparently likes X-Men, and his favourite character is Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, who has wolf like powers.

Wow, that was fast. Thank you very much, now I get it. Cuz I looked Hugh Jackman up and there was something about X-Men. But I thought: Wait, there was one episode where they watched an older movie. But now I understand, thanks.

Speaking of porn magazines (and I hate to sound like a freak here) but I was watching an episode of Scrubs on dvd (I forget the exact title, but I think it was in season two or three) inwhich Elliot was having trouble saying the correct medical names for certain parts of the human anatomy (she was saying pajingo or something); sometime in the episode Carla pulls Elliot aside and shows her a pornography magazine to try and get her to give correct names for these certain parts of the human anatomy. The weird thing is I was reading TV guide just before I watched this episode, and in the cheers and Jeers section there was a freeze frame jeer in which the columnist jeered Sawyer, from Lost, for reading a pornography magazine. As you may have guessed by now bothscrubs and Lost used the same issue of that magazine. I think it was called playpen and they both had the same headline ofa nun becoming a stripper, and the same cover of some blonde chick. So for those of you who are still reading this long and derivative post my question is: Why the hell would these two shows (produced at different times, and in completely different locations) have used the same issue of apornography magazine in one of their scenes? Is this issue of themagazine just a really good prop (do producers really like it, is the story of a nun becoming a stripper that compelling), or is it a fake magazine that can be used without having to pay royalties to an actual magazine? I doubt any body can really answer this, but feel free to discuss if you wish.

To the above poster, I did read your whole post but it's 8am, i've been up since 2:30am and i cant be bothered quoting.. Anyway, I think the reasons you gave are most likely the reasons they would cite. "Playpen" is obviously not a real magazine but sounds enough like Playboy to make people think porn but not quite enough to get them sued! It's probably just a general prop that both shows happened to use, good spot though, nice eye for detail!

Ok, so for once, I have a question.. Well, not really a question, more of a comment. I have always thought about this and it's confused me somewhat, it regards The Todd's tattoo.. Now as many of you die hard Scrubs fans know, it says DOC. This makes sense because he is a DOCtor, right? Well, if I know my prison tats (and i like to think i do, but i probably dont) DOC also stands for Departmetn Of Correction.. All the prison clothes that they give prisoners have DOC on them in big letters (never figured out why, are they worried they're gonna steal the prison uniforms?) and I have also seen prisoners with DOC tattooed on their arms like The Todd.. Is it possible The Todd is a jailbird?
