Season 9 Episode 4

Our Histories

Aired Tuesday 9:30 PM Dec 15, 2009 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • When J.D. and Turk try to motivate the Students, they mention that they once skipped a steak-night to be with a patient while he is dying. They refer to Season 8, Episode 2 "My Last Words". J.D says this incident occurred last year, which seems plausible as it was in season 8 and this is season 9. However, it can't be true as J.D clearly states in the season 9 premiere "Our First Day of School" that he and Turk hadn't worked together in over a year.

  • Quotes

    • Ted: Did you hear that I was quitting?
Dr. Cox: I did, Ted, I just haven't really figured out how to pretend I care yet.
      Ted: Understandable.
Dr. Kelso: Here, I always assumed that some day we'd just find you dead in your office.
Ted: Yeah, that was the dream...but the Gooch and I are gonna take some time off and tour the country.
Gooch: We've written a song for every state.
Dr. Cox: I'm sure I'll hear them all when I die and go to hell.

    • (Entering an elevator full of med students, reading his thesaurus)
Dr. Cox: Hello murderers, butchers, slaughterers, slayers. I love this thing.

    • Dr. Cox: (to J.D. and Turk) I've decided to no longer refer to you two as "pathetic".
      J.D.: Well, thanks, Perry.
Dr. Cox: Instead, since my nephew gave me my very first thesaurus as a birthday present, I'm going to allow you to choose from the following, if you will: miserable, pitiful, sorry, wretched, deplorable, regrettable or...sad.
