  • Does anyone remember when this show used to have jokes?

Imagine that everybody involved with the making of Scrubs had tragically died, and they gave the job of reconstructing it to a guy who had once seen about half an episode out of the corner of his eye across an airport lobby, on mute. That is what this episode is like.
The new characters all talk as if the makers of the show are worried that old fans might tune in and be confused. Therefore every single utterance has to express the totality of their character. Luckily, this is easy as they are all one-dimensional caricatures not allowed to grow into their own due to the inexplicable continuing presence of (only some of) the original cast, like so many hovering farts.
If you didn't like Scrubs before, then you won't warm to it now. If you did, it is like watching the zombified corpse of a loved one stumble around aimlessly. For the most part it is unrecognisable as the person you once knew, but the true horror comes in the moments where it evinces a superficial resemblance to what it once was.
