In the "Shower in a Briefcase" commercial the light pole on the sidewalk blows over, but when it hits the ground it flops like it is made of paper.

Due to licensing issues, on the DVD version of this episode Gene Upshaw and Ed Garvey's performance of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" is awkwardly overdubbed with scary sound effects.

Banda Brava is incorrectly listed as "Band de Brava" in the closing credits.

Bowery Boys In The Band was a parody of The Bowery Boys movies, the 1970 movie Boys In The Band and The Deer Hunter.

Jane Eyrehead is of course a parody of Jane Eyre. Joe Flaherty played Mr. Rochester as Rochester from the Jack Benny Program.

While trying to clear up the matter of the phony check with Earl Camembert, Fred Willard states that he never worked for SCTV. Life will imitate art two years later when he indeed works for SCTV in a 1984 (Cinemax) episode.
