  • If you believe this show you'll believe anything

If you're the kind of person who believes that a department such as the one depicted in this series exists anywhere in the world, then you'll probably enjoy the equally implausible storylines. If, on the other hand, you possess an ounce of rationality you'll realise that this is the kind of passable twaddle that the Americans do so much better than the Brits. I'm genuinely suprised that this series has lasted for as long as it has as it appears to become more unbelievable with each new outing. Do yourelves a favour and switch off. The real world is considerably scarier than escapist nonsense like this.moreless

Sea of Souls - I've just discovered it this series - oh! how I wish they'd repeat the rest. It's absolutely brilliant. Time flies when I'm watching it I'm so engrossed.

Last Saturday in Sleeper when the "security guard" first appeared I nearly jumped out of my skin! I could tell someone or something was going to be there but it didn't make any difference I still jumped!

I know all of these things are very unlikely ever to happen, especially all to the same people, but logic doesn't play a part.

Go out on a Saturday night - not a chance whilst this is on, it doesn't matter how wonderful the date is!moreless
  • Atmospheric, classy exploration of the paranormal

    9.0
Sea of Souls is another quality series from the BBC. Each season only has 3 or 4 episodes, which allows for each episode to be of top quality - unlike many U.S. shows with 20+ episodes runs per season with many that are mediocre or just fillers. Set in Scotland (and suitably foggy, grey and atmospheric), it follows a group of university parapsychology researchers as they investigate various unexplainable cases which may be related to the paranormal. Season 1 is fine, but Season 2 was even better. Warning: some of the episodes are rather grisly.moreless
