  • A really really sad episode, good but sad.

    9.5
This was a really good episode and it was nice to have a new series but it was really really sad. It was good to see the relationship with ET and Nikki at the start. It did make me cry quite a bit. The new uniforms were so much better and looked a lot less like baby grows which is good for adults. I thought the story with 'Hantu' was quite interesting and a little bit different. I am wondering about the canoe people who took the photo of ET, they felt like they should be involved in something, what was going on with them because i have watched other episode and they don't turn up, but i might have missed something. I thought that Swain and Spider worked well together, and there was great action. Despite the fact that ET did die it was a little bit anticlimatic for the start of a series but i still thought it was a great episode.moreless

    • When the bodies of the divers are transferred off Hammersley, the caption states that the other ship is HMAS Anzac (Hull number: FFH 150). The ship to which the bodies are transferred clearly bears the hull number L 50 which is in fact HMAS Tobruk.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Swain: Well, where are you going?
E.T: I was going to go for a spot of diving.
      Swain: Nice.
      Spider: I'm going diving too.
      E.T: Yeah?
Spider: Yeah, not the sort that requires an oxygen tank though.
      Bomber: (hitting him) Spider!

    • E.T: (about the fish tank) What else do you see in there?
      Nav: Diver, treasure chest.
E.T: What do you keep in a treasure chest?
Nav: Treasure? (she opens it and finds a ring)
E.T: (down on one knee) If you would agree to marry me, you, Nikki, will make me the happiest guy in the whole world.
      Nav: Yes.

    • Buffer: You know, E.T never said anything about you two?
      Nav: Yeah.
Buffer: We all loved him. But you've lost more than any of us. You are not alone in this.

    • Nav: Mrs Holiday, my name is Nikki Caetano. I was…I was Josh's divisional officer. I'm so sorry.
Mrs. Holiday: Among Josh's personal effects were some letters. I can't tell you what it means to us, knowing that somebody loved him so much.

    • Mike: How do we frame our grief? How do we make sense of the life taken away so early? These are things that we will ponder for years to come and there are no easy answers. What is clear though, is the way E.T lived his life. He represented the finest values of the Royal Australian Navy – he believed passionately, he was loyal to his crew, and he never shirked his duty. He was courageous, diligent, and his sense of humour could defuse even the most difficult situation. He was a son, he was a brother, he was a friend, and he…...he was a member of my crew. We will miss him.
Minister: I now commit leading seaman Joshua Holiday to the sea. May his soul rest in peace.
