    • RO: Bird, would you say that I'm a sensitive person?
      Bird
: I don't think you often put yourself in other people's shoes, no.
      RO:
Why would I wanna do that?
      Bird
: Sometimes, if you think about what another person is going through, you realise you've experienced similar emotions yourself.
      RO
      : So?
      Bird
: So, it helps you to understand how they might be feeling, helps you to be sensitive to their needs at that time.
      RO
: And you don't think that I'm good at that?
      Bird
: Sometimes I think you're so truthful it hurts. But I think there's a lot you don't share too. So if you wanna be more sensitive, you may have to look at changing that.

    • 2Dads: What if I opened up the hatch? I'm gonna die anyway. Might as well make a swim for it.
      RO
      : 2Dads, you won't make it. There's no way, you'll die.
      2Dads
: You know we get what we deserve, Robert, huh?
      RO
: What's that supposed to mean?
      2Dads
: Doesn't matter. Lack of oxygen talking.

    • RO: (talking about being locked in a wardrobe by his alcoholic father) I was bashing my knee against the wardrobe door so much that the skin came off.
      2Dads
: He didn't come for you, huh?
      RO
: No. About, God, in there for hours, about 3am, I managed to get the wardrobe door open and I came out and he was asleep. I picked up the bottle he'd been drinking out of and I smashed him over the head with it. In the morning he didn't remember anything. He thought he'd fallen over. My knee got infected. I've still got a scar. I used to like the dark.
      2Dads
      : Robert?
      RO
      : Yeah, I'm here.
      2Dads
: I panicked. Jack and I, we fought over those damn escape suits like kids. I lost.
      RO
      : I understand, 2Dads. It's okay.

    • 2Dads: (as RO takes off his jacket) Geez, RO, you're not gonna start streaking to celebrate my homecoming, are you?
      RO
      : No, I haven't had a shower in forty-eight hours.
      2Dads
: You have very effective deodorant though.
      RO
: I tend not to exude odour.
