Dutchy: So I'm guessing your godson is not going to get any special favours?
Mike: Exactly, treat him as you would any other junior officer under training.
Dutchy: Oh, I won't be that cruel.

Mike: You remember Dutchy our Buffer?
Ryan: (going to salute) Oh, do I…..? I don't need to do that.
Dutchy: Only on Wednesdays, mate.

Kate: Mind you, not having Mike Flynn in my life hasn't exactly turned me into a party girl.
Jim: Well, not yet anyway.

Bird: You must hate your father a lot then.
Ryan: I hardly know him these days.
Bird: Yeah, Ryan, this, this is a big deal. You might be his last hope.
Ryan: Why are you doing this? You don't know him.
Bird: Yeah, but I know you. Do you honestly think you can live with yourself if he dies and you did nothing to help?
Ryan: You know I like it better when I'm the Midshipman and you're the Seaman, okay?
Bird: So you do this all the time then? Just cut yourself off from people who care about you.

Ryan: I know what you're gonna say – I should have stayed on the RHIB.
Mike: I recall that was the order.
Ryan: They needed the fire extinguisher and everyone else had their hands full.
Mike: So I hear. You showed initiative, Ryan. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's a liability.
Ryan: Yes, sir.
Mike: Next time, do the same thing.
Ryan: Thank you, sir.
