Murphy's golfing is cut short due to his lack of balls.
In several scenes (including the scene with the "Delicious Pies" sign), the tops of Murphy's golf clubs stay on-screen after he's driven off.
The band in the bar plays the song "Fishin Hole", that Dr. Virjay's band The Mahatmamas (as well as the Ocean Bottom Nightmare Band) performs at the Battle of the Groups in the episode, Splitsville.
"Congratulations" to Pod 6 is misspelled as "Congretulations"
Murphy (to dolphin boy): Yeah, go ahead and run! Like the little fat kid you are! Like the little running away fat kid you are! Like a ham trying to run away from Christmas!
Murphy: Eggars! I command you to stop running! ...so fast! ...away from me!
Murphy: How do you like them apples, ho-bag?! And how do you like those very same apples, Eggars?!
Hesh: Hesh wants poppers!
Captain Murphy: I hate pod six.
Captain Murphy: I swear to God one day soon, I'm gonna burn this whole place down.
Captain Murphy: (to Operator) Aww, clean your ears out woman, I want some balls!
Captain Murphy: I'll visit your new location in Hell! And when you get there in a jillion little pieces, tell 'em Murphy's the one who sent ya! To Hell!
Though he is apparently buried, Hesh is not actually dead after this episode.
Visual Reference: Caddyshack golf bag
Murphy's golf back (as seen on the back of his golf cart) looks suspiciously similar in style to the one used by Rodney Dangerfield in the movie "Caddyshack" -- complete with stereo tuner and TV.
Title: "The Legend of Bagger Vance"
The Legend of Bagger Vance was a golf movie starring Will Smith and Matt Damon.
Closing Credits scene/theme:
The end credits scene is very reminiscent of the ending scenes from the TV show "The Incredible Hulk" with the monster-Hesh tearfully walking away from real Hesh's grave to a somber piano tune.
