Third time Dolphin Boy was shot.
The songs "The Knowledge Hat" and "Respek Knuckles" were done by Matt Chapman, who is known for creating the web-cartoon series Homestar Runner with his brother, Mike Chapman. The voice Matt uses for singing the songs is the same he uses for the voice of Larry, the lead vocalist for Limozeen, an imaginary hair-metal band sometimes referenced to in the Homestar Runner cartoons.
Happy Days: This episode has the show "jumping the shark" literally (though inversely), by having Sharko perform a waterski jump over a pool filled with Fonzies. "Jumping the shark" is a reference to an episode of Happy Days in which Fonzie jumps over a shark tank on waterskis. Since this is considered by fans to be the discernible point at which the series went downhill, the term "jumping the shark" has become known amongst TV fans as the point in which a show starts declining in quality. This was done as a clever in-joke about fans believing that the introduction of Sharko (and to some extent, Shanks) was the beginning of the end of Sealab's comedic quality.
Sharko: none
Sharko told Debbie about his mom being blown up by a guy who put a tank in her mouth and then shot it. This is what happened to the shark in Jaws at the end.
