    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Whilst having sex in the reactor room, Quinn and Debbie do not randomly grow extra appendages or eyes or bulges like the hippie band did.

      • Answer to above: It is a surreal comedy show, with little to no continuity. Surely a bigger point would be that SeaLab actually blew up in that episode, so how could it be around? Don't over-analyse this stuff.

      • Dr. Virjay is holding a lit candle when he finds Quinn and Debbie fighting but in "Fusebox" Quinn said that a single spark can cause Sealab to explode.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Hesh: Hesh wants girl-on-girl action!

      • Hesh: Hesh has been gettin' his drink on!

      • Dr. Virjay: What is he doing?
Sparks: I think he's attempting reentry.
Dr. Virjay: Why do we have to end on a lame quote from a James Bond movie?

      • Dr. Virjay: Now we need a big crowd tonight Hesh, so make sure all the flyers are properly displayed.
Hesh: Maybe Hesh can rap in your band.
Dr. Virjay: Oh, if only it were up to me….
Hesh: 'Cause Hesh lays down the phat rhymes ya feel me? I kick it old school, I kick the crap outta that school. I…
Dr Virjay: (interrupts) Just put the damn flyers up.

      • Lyrics to "Fishin' Hole"

        Hurry now, don't be late.
Sun is up, the water's great.
Grab some cricket's and a worm.
        Gonna make the girlies squirm.

        Bobby Lee, Lucy Lu,
        I'm whippin' up some stew.
        Over there's Charlie Brown.
He's passed out on the ground.
Man that fishin' is out of sight.

Come on down, the fishin' hole.
        Grab yer fishin' pole.
Get on down to the fishin' hole.

    • NOTES (5)

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • Virjay's One Band Member: "thug life"
When "Fishing hole" is being played for the 1st time, you can see a partial "thug life" tattoo on the left wrist of a guitarist. This was tattooed on Tupac's stomach.

      • Visual Reference: Riverbottom Nightmare Band: Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas
The other band at the battle of the bands was called the "Ocean Bottom Nightmare Band." This is a take-off from an old Muppet special - "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" where the antagonists are a lawless rock n' roll group who call themselves the "Riverbottom Nightmare Band." Incidentally, they are also competing in a 'battle of the bands' type of thing via a talent show contest.
