When the torpedos hit sealab, the reactor pod is destroyed. (the melting hesh) 2 shots later, the background screen shows the reactor room still there.
Miller: Hal, pretend you're an actor.
Hal: Your pets get a house, but I don't even have a chair!
(as fog obscures the stage)
Miller: Less fog! Less fog, ass!
Miller: It's like there's a knife in my eye, and you're twisting it Hal!
(later in the episode)
Miller: Stop twisting the knife!
Miller: You have five seconds to be on your mark and in wardrobe, or I will personally climb inside your abdominal cavity and make a little HOUSE in there for my dogs to play in!
Miller: Dammit Darlene! What did I tell you about the pills?
Darlene: They need them pills to keep 'em peppy so's they can work! I got bills to pay, dammit!
Miller: Oh yeah? Price of crack go up?
(discussing their impending divorce)
Hal: This isn't very funny.
Hal's wife: No, no it's not. Some things... just aren't funny.
Hal: That Sealab show is funny.
Hal's wife: Only sometimes.
(playing a CHiPs video game)
Erik Estrada: Damn, I look good in khaki.
Kate Miller (Debbie): This show sucks.
(about the show's writers)
Kate Miller (Debbie): Have they ever even talked to a woman before?
Brett Butler (Quinn): This show sucks.
The enemy submarines that "attack" Sealab have the state flag of Texas painted on the side, which may be a continuation of the "934-Texas" joke from "All That Jazz"
Chopper Dave, whose television show is seen in the episode "Lost in Time," is seen in the background on the set of Sealab.
In the briefest of brief references during the chaos at the end of the episode, we are shown a sign indicating there is a Hellmouth at the set location, proving that at least one of the cast/crew is a Joss Whedon fan.
Although Adam Reed is a hack, the snowglobe ending is actually based on the ending to St. Elsewhere, which ended with the setting being a snowglobe in the hands of an autistic child.
Miller looks exactly like the main character of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids". The screenwriter who appears in the middle of the episode looks exactly like Harvey, another character from this show.
Sparks: "Gundam. He's my mentor in astrotology."
Gundams are giant mobile suits used for space-combat in the Gundam anime series's. Thus the astrotology reference.
Murphy: "You won't believe the dream I just had"
Not only does the title pertain to the film Living in Oblivion, there are many parts taken straight out of the film. Such as the ending of the episode, where Murphy finds out it's just a dream sequence.
Brett Butler: Why do I have to dress as a Martian?
He is dressed as a Jaffa, an alien warrior in the best scifi series on today: Stargate SG-1. The "snake in your belly" line is also taken from the show, since Jaffa are the incubators of a snakelike race of evil beings known as the Goa'uld.
none: none
The title of the episode is a reference to the semi-indie flick 'Living In Oblivion' which is a movie about people making a movie.
Marco: Playing CHiPs video game
Marco, who is played by Erik Estrada, was playing a CHiPs video game. CHiPs was a tv show in the 1970s/80s that starred Erik Estrada as Officer Poncherello.
