  • Early prime time soap

With the success of "Dallas" and "Knots Landing", CBS tried another prime time soap, this one aimed at teens. "Secrets of Midland Heights" debuted in 1980 with a great cast including film star Martha Scott as the matriarch of the wealthy Millington family. Other familiar faces included Bibi Besch and future stars Lorenzo Lamas and Linda Hamilton. Others, such as Mark Pinter and Jenny O'Hara became familiar tv fixtures in the 80's and 90's. Unfortunately this show was scheduled on Saturday nights when most teens are out and it was cancelled after only a few weeks. It was revamped a year later as "King's Crossing" but that show did not last either. I want to see this show again. The ratings weren't really that bad from what I remember and the reviews were fair. It was sort of a poorer version of 90210 set in a sleepy midwestern town.
