Can you help settle an arguement pls!

The pier scenes in Seinfeld - where characters (notably Jerry or George) are sat on a pier, deep in contemplation, observing happy couples/families with relaxing music playing, then it seems the character comes to a decision and runs off, disturbing seagulls on the pier...

Are these scenes paying homage to a particular film/show??

    Thanks  : )

    Lol.  That's no help

Come on guys.  Nobody knows? I thought you knew everything!  Maybe it's from no film/show - do you think that's the most likely since no one hasn't asnswered??

Im pretty sure it was their idea and they thought it was funny so they used it when George went to propose, and when Jerry went to propose, so i dont think it was from a movie or another show, Im sure someone has used it after them, but i think that was their idea.

    One more thing

We dont know everything here, most of us are just like you just a regular Seinfeld watcher, And if you really want to find out about that pier joke wait for the season 7 to come out on DVD and they will tell you on the Notes about Nothing at the bottum of the screen, if you have ever done notes about nothing.

A signature Seinfeld move, moreso in the later ones; they like to use the same/similiar joke for two different characters.

Yeah just like the looking up and yelling as the camera spirals away.. Or when one gets a frantic phone call from the other and they go "Who is this?" LOL
