This sort of does happen in "The Chicken Roaster", where Jerry becomes Kramer and Kramer becomes Jerry as a result of living in eachother's apartment.   It would have been interesting if it were explored more like ths.

No - if anything it's the other way around. In Living Color first aired on April 15, 1990. Only the Seinfeld pilot had aired at that point - and I don't think Kramer was even in that episode.

Kramer was in the pilot, except that they called him "Kessler" I do believe.

Anyway, I dont know if Id recast anyway except maybe Jerry because Im sorry but hes such a bad actor. I love him (and Larry David) for coming up with the show and the jokes and all that, but judging from how good the actor is, hes definetly the worst out of the 4. I dont really know who could play him though.

I would keep the actors. No change whatsoever. Plus, who can do stand-up comedy like Jerry Seinfeld?

Yeah, you're right - he was in the pilot. Everyone always says that he's such a bad actor - but I disagree. He may be the worst of the four - but that doesn't make him bad (in my opinion). I would say he's as every bit as good an actor as Larry David.

Well you know how you say sometimes over in the CYE forum that LD laughs when hes supposed to be in a serious tone and stuff like that? Thats how I feel about Jerry. Plus, theres something he does that I cant quite put my finger on it, its his actions or something...I cant explain.

On another note, the guy who played Kramer during the whole tv pilot thing wouldve been good as Kramer himself had Michael Richards not been available. He played the "cooky next door neighbor" on Friends too, and he did a good job. So I think he wouldve been okay, but I wouldnt not want MR though.

Hey, I like Mike Richards, and Jerry Seinfeld is my favorite stand-up comedian.

I wouldn't recast, they have a lot of chemistry and all of them work perfectly together.

Jim carrey influenced by kramer, you do realize Seinfeld wasn't even popular until it was on T.V for about 3 years. The only person I could think is Jason Lee as Jerry.

If I had to recast Seinfeld, well you can't plaine and simple. The only people you can replace are Elaine and Newman. But it would be hard!

Jerry: B.J Novak (Ryan from the Office)

    George: Paul Giamatti

Elaine: Jenna Fischer (Pam from the office)

Kramer: No - one can replace Michael Richards.

    Newman: Drew Carey.

Sigh. This whole thread is a train wreck. But when I saw Drew Carey, I had to put my foot down. Drew Carey is a light-hearted type of dude, he could never pull off the diabolical Newman character. Drew has always been a laid-back loose type of guy who's into Improv & comedy. Sorry, but Jenna Fischer ain't no Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Julia has some real comedic talent, even on her days on SNL & movies. She's got that "spunk" that you just can't act. You think B.J. Novak could pull of a Jerry Seinfeld? A high-voiced pitched stand-up with mannerism that only come with genetics? B.J. on The Office is pretty laid-back. Besides I wouldn't recast anyone on Seinfeld, that cast had a TON of chemistry, they all got along, and given the background of the actors and past ties, it was a great fit.

I would like to see the guy who played Kramer in the NBC pilot thing to play Kramer for just like an episode. If Michael Richards was never around, he could possibly do it. He was 'the cooky neighbor' on Friends as well so I sort of know he could. No one could replace Jason as George..I mean to me he IS George. Just couldnt. I can not see Paul Giamanti as him at all. Jerry, Elaine, Newman, etc could probably be replaced but I dont know by who.
