I'm a huge fan of I Love Lucy and Friends, both are my top two comedies ever. Is Seinfeld one of those shows that can also match the stature of the two I stated?

I guess you missed the third topic down:

    Comparison to friends

I am not sure if that helps. But in my point of view, I would say Seinfeld is better then Lucy and Friends.

But how does a show about completely nothing be good? I don't get that.

It's not a show about nothing - it's a show about the little things in life. Just give it a chance. It's definitly better than Friends. Funny thing is, Jerry states in one of the episodes, that he's never seen an episode of "I Love Lucy"!

Sounds hard to believe that Jerry has never seen an ep of I Love Lucy, everyone has seen an ep of I Love Lucy. Lucy was the pioneer woman of sitcoms.

If you're planning on getting the series, I recommend starting with any season from four through eight. The first three seasons, while they have their good episodes, aren't really that great when compared with the rest of the series. At least, that's what I think about it.

I just saw two eps today on TBS and I didn't get it, the laugh track was laughing but I didn't get it at all. The first ep was with Kristen Davis and whole Seinfeld dropped her toothbrush into the toilet, the second was with Elaine and how this Chinese place wouldn't go to her side of the street to deliver a special fish dish.

That episode was classic. btw, they are from the same episode: "The Pothole."

Watch Season 5. Best Season IMO.

i always liked "The Big Salad"...George and his obsession with the salad, Kramer and Gendison, and Jerry dating the girl who went out with Newman. That's one of my favorites

I'm really beginning to get into Seinfeld, it's different from what I normally like but it's good different. "The Millennium" and "Muffin Top" are pretty good but the later one is weird at the end. Also is Julia preggers in Season 8? a couple of times I can see a bunk below the black overcoat.

Recommended eps for beginners: The Little Kicks; The Pool Guy; The Contest; the one where crazy Joe Devola kicks Kramer in the head, and the one where Puddy paints his face. Classics, and if you don't laugh at those, you won't laugh at anything.

That's strange, I'm a huge fan of I Love Lucy (not so much friends) and I love Sienfeld. Start watching it right away.
