Which of the four main characters do you think could've been replaced without the show being completely ruined?

    It's Elaine for me.

It just wouldn't be the same without George, Jerryor Kramer butit would still be a great show if they replaced Elaine with another female actress.

Elaine easily. Although it would have been hard to replace her, they could have done it.

With the other 3, they were really irreplaceable. I always felt that Elaine was just thrown in there, just because they needed a female character. Which is actually true, since NBC wanted them to have a female and not all male main characters.

Elaine, although I still like Elaine a lot and disagree that she would have been easily replaceable.

Actually, even though he's my favorite character, now that I think about it, George might be the easiest to replace. They could have had Larry David play him.

OMG no. No one could do that character like Jason Alexander. And I know I'm in the minority here but Elaine is hilarious, she's the last one I'd replace.

I always thought Larry David'scharacter on Curb Your Enthusiasmwas closer to Jerry's than to George's so Larry replacing George wouldn't work in my opinion.

Aside from the fact that they are both balding, I really didn't see anything alike.

I think Elaine was a bit forced. I mean, she's sort of a sainer version of George.

Honestly, Id have to say Jerry. Ive always loved George and Kramer, and lately Ive been loving Elaine a lot. She just is hilarious with the things she says and does (look at my thread about my fave Elaine moments). I dont see why just because shes a female or whatever that has anything to do with it, because she adds alot more than Jerry does. Jerry has an epiosde related to something that hes doing/seeing (like The Voice for ex) but usually hes just making a joke here and there about something someone else is saying/doing. Where as with Elaine, shes got the David Puddy relationship, the one where she becomes the pres of Jay Petterman and she sits back and smokes a cigar calling Jerry, the one where she acts as a janitor to get fish, among many other epiosdes I dont want to sit here and try to remember at the moment. She just adds so much and shes a much better actor than Jerry is.

And George IS based on Larry David. Hes got that neurotic, crazy mentality that Larry does. And Larrys mentioned it a few times on CYE that he was based on it.

i really don't think any of them could've been replaced. all four were completely neccessary to make the show as good as it was, imo. so i can't vote. none of them could've been replaced and have the show be as good as it was.

Voted for George, I thought he could easily be replaced. I thought Jeremy Piven did an excellent interpretation of George in the episode "The Pilot."

For sure it ain't Kramer, Michael was and still is one of a kind. Every goof, every fall, every comment was perfect.

Elaine, I adored I just can't see anyone else in the role that could be sexy yet not mind getting down right ugly. Jerry, sure he wasn't great great early on but he defiantly improved and became irreplaceable. Especially since he was playing himself.
