  • Trivia

  • Quotes

  • Notes

    • This 45 minute (sans commercials) TV special is an abridged version of the 65 minute 'Seinfeld: How it Began' documentary found on the Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2 DVD set.

    • Lee Garlington, who played Clair in the pilot was not seen or mentioned, despite the fact that she was intended to be an official cast member. Jerry actually goes out of his way to mention that they needed to find a female lead.

    • We learn in this special that all of the crazy noises Kramer would make, were improvised by Michael Richards.

    • This 60 minute special aired a couple days after the Seasons 1&2 and Season 3 DVDs were released.

    • First time for Seinfeld to return to NBC since 1998, also airing, as it did when on the air, on Must-See-TV-Thursday, although this time it is on 1 hour later.

    • First time 'Seinfeld' will be seen in HDTV format.

    • This episode is dedicated "To Brandon Tartikoff: Whose interview we miss..." Tartikoff was the President of NBC, hired by Dick Ebersol, and was resonsible for a tenure of very successful programming (including Seinfeld, The Cosby Show and the "rebirth" of SNL). He left the position in 1991, and died of a third recurrance of Hodgkin's disease in 1997.
