what i liked- the revelation kramer's first name is Cosmo, George walking into the bathroom, thinking his girlfriend was the one puking, George's plan for "the switch", Elaine getting caught trying to take back the racket, amongst other things.

good episode. I don't watch this show a lot, but this was definitely one of the better ones I've seen thus far. I laughed quite a bit and I liked everything else. A+ is definitely my final grade for this episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Obviously this episode shows that George doesn't like women who throw up after they eat. But in "The Fix-Up" he dated Elaine's friend as part of the fix-up. And Jerry specifically told him that "She Likes to Throw Up".

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Jerry: I'm not an orgy guy.

    • George: Do you realize in the entire history of western civilization no one has successfully accomplished the roommate switch. In the middle ages you could get locked up for even suggesting it.
Jerry: They didn't have roommates in the middle ages.
      George: How do you know?
Jerry: Well, for one thing, they didn't have apartments.
George: Well, I'm sure at some point between the years 800 and 1200 somewhere there were two women living together.

    • Kramer: All my life I've been running away from that name. That's why I wouldn't tell anybody. But I've been thinking about it. All this time I'm trying not to be me. I'm afraid to face who I was. But I'm Cosmo, Jerry, I'm Cosmo Kramer, and that's who I'm going to be. From now on, I'm Cosmo!

    • Jerry: (about his new girlfriend, a non-laugher) The jokes kept bouncing off her like Superman.

    • George: Every time we go out to eat, the minute we were done eating, she's runnin' to the bathroom.
      Elaine: So you're concerned?
George: Elaine, of course I'm concerned. I'm paying for those meals.

    • (Buzzer goes off in Jerry's apartment)
      Jerry: (answers it) Yeah?
George: (from downstairs) Hey di ho.
      Jerry: C'mon up.

    • George: Are you crazy?! This is like discovering Plutonium…by accident!

    • Jerry: I'd have to get new friends . . . orgy friends!

    • George: I found out another juicy little nugget about our friend.
      Elaine: What?
George: I uh... got the first name
Elaine: You found out Kramer's first name?!
      George: That's right. You ready?
Jerry: I've been trying to get it out of him for 10 years! What is it?
      George: Cosmo.
      Jerry/Elaine: Cosmo?

    • Babs: Cosmo!
      George: Cosmo?

    • George: (to Jerry) Do you ever get down on your knees and just thank God that you know me and have access to my dementia?!

    • Elaine: Newman plays tennis?
      Jerry: He's fantastic.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Normally, at the end of the pre-final scene, the image freezes and shows the 3 main executive producers (some are shown at the beginning of the episode). There are some episodes where they are showed during the ending credits. This is the first episode that shows that.

    • When Kramer and Babs are strolling down the street and everyone is saying hello to Cosmo. The last hello was yelled out by Larry David.
