In this episode, two cast main cast members from the fifth season of Alias guest star. Ron Rifkin who plays Arvin Sloane and Rachel Nikols who plays Rachel Gibson.
In Julian's office, right before Carrie gets drunk, Julian puts a Billie Holiday CD in the player. But after the music starts, you can see through the CD window that the disc is not actually moving.
Samantha: Can we cut the cake? I have a three-way to go to.

Carrie Bradshaw: (shrieks as she picks up a pair of shoes) Oh my God! Do you know what these are? Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes! I thought these were an urban shoe myth!

The picture of Carrie as a child is really a photo of Sarah Jessica Parker at the age of 3. The actual photo was of only Parker in a field. Carrie's father, posed by a cameraman named John R. MacDonald, was added in digitally.
Enid to Carrie: This isn't Vogue
Vogue is the most prestigious and best selling fashion magazine in the world. Its current editor-in-chief is Anna Wintour who has held such position since 1988.
Charlotte: Fried chicken? It's not time for the Super Bowl!
Miranda: It's my shower and I'll fry if I want to.
This is a play on the Leslie Gore song, "It's My Party (And I'll Cry If I Want To)." The teenage girl in the song is crying because her boyfriend showed up at her birthday party with another girl.
