Shades of Brooklyn is a collection of short films from writer-directors Daoud Abeid and Dahkil Hausif and starring Ephraim Benton, Nia Fairweather, Rob Morgan, and Xosha Roquemore in three stories about characters in New York City whose relationships have them examining their thoughts on sexuality, youth, and how to navigate between the two. This film is comprised of three short pieces-Temporary Insanity, Karma, and The Longest Walk. Each installment features stories about old and young people learning from each other and exploring their personal beliefs. In Temporary Insanity, a troubled high school student talks with his friends on a Subway about his contradictory behavior. In Karma, two adult men discuss the issue of talking to kids about sex. In The Longest Walk, a young woman dresses up for her first date, only to find the clothes she has worn to make herself attractive invite the attention of not only her date, but all the men who stare as she passes.
