  • Frikkin Lily Five.

Despite knowing their opponent is the almighty Hao, The Lily Five were still determined to fight it all the way through, and even did Imagine training of them defeating Hao. Yoh tries convincing Hao to not kill them, but it was futile. Yoh tries stopping them himself by telling them if they can't even touch him, they have no chance at Hao. Yoh was easily battering them around. Meanwhile, Ren got himself in a fight with Mikihisa, getting even more beaten up. The Lily Five then go through their flashbacks, remembering how horrible their lives were because of their ability to see ghosts and spirits. They did a combination attack, and actually touched Yoh. Ren was able to land a kick on Mikihisa's face. In the end, The Lily Five forfeited. Ren was still in the desert, and Yoh joined them. They used their weapons to slash the sand, and found two grains of rice. One of them sad God of Laughter, the other said Coltsfoot field. Looks like they still have a longs way to go.

Again, I like this episode because it doesn't feature the overused format of a sorrowful trio of shaman participants who end up losing to either Team Funbari Hot Spring or Team The Ren. Even better, Yoh actually lost a match, handicapped though, since he did state the condition if they even touch him. But other than that, a good episode because it presents something fresh. Usually it's the main character being ignorant, flying into an unwinnable match, and another stronger person fights them to open their eyes at how weak they are, but it's Yoh. The feeling is just so much different, that it's actually pretty entertaining. But it's still only average.moreless
