This episode marks the first step into Yoh's sharman king life. Personally i really liked this episode because it shows a person / ghost coming to save a young person named Yoh. The main plot of this episode is about Yoh and Morty get into trouble and need help but with no one around they get worried, but a ghost which is seen in the first episode returns to save Yoh and his friend.

Overall i thought this episode was great and i would recommend this episode to everyone. Also this episode tells us more about the character Yoh .moreless

Yoh requests Amidamaru to be his primary bonding spirit. But he refuses as he's waiting for someone. Manta then makes him aware of Harusame, Amidamaru's favourite sword. When inspecting the instrument, they discover the presence of another spirit Mosuke; a swordsmith who lived in the same time period as Amidamaru. It seems he's the one who created Harusame. 600 years back, Amidamaru and Mosuke were bestfriends who lived in a hellish era. When they grew up, Mosuke crafted a beautiful sword that the Shogun demanded the two work for him. But he also demanded from Amidamaru to kill Mosuke. He refused, and as a result, he was forced to kill all those the Shogun sent after him, until he eventually died. The two friends made a promise that Mosuke will deliver Harusame directly to the Amidamaru, but never did. 600 years later, through Yoh, Mosuke was able to fullfill his promise.

The story between Mosuke and Amidamaru was a little bit confusing at first, but nothing complexed. In the amount of time it had, it did a really great job of constructing a pretty good story. Plus, they had time to fit in the reason for Amidamaru for becoming Yoh's main spirit partner. And it's also great to finally see Ryu of the "wooden" sword to finally get his ass kicked. Last episode didn't count since Yoh only cut off his hair, and the most he did was faint.moreless
