This episode of Shaman King is called Road Trip . In my personal opinion i think that this episode was good because we see Yoh train more and get much more powerful . The main plot of the episode was Yoh goes back home for more training and learns that the only way to increase his power is to attempt a journey through the dreaded Tunnel of Tartarus, a place so dangerous it could cost him his life. Meanwhile, Morty embarks on a road trip with Rio to save his friendship with Yoh, unaware that a sinister force is following him. .

Overall , this episode was brillant and that is why ( on the points system ) i gave it 9.7 out of 10.

Manta and Yoh finally heal their wounds, but as soon as Manta awakes, Yoh severes the tie between their friendship. Yoh, Anna, and Amidamaru head for Izumo, Yoh's hometown, in hopes of gaining a ton of results in a short amount of time. Manta spends him time alone like he normally did before meeting Yoh. He encounters Ryu, and he convinces Manta to go look for Yoh. They also head towards Izumo. When Yoh reached the place, he's greeted by his grandfather. He leads him into Yomi's hole; a cave that can quickly allow any Shaman to gain a large amount of Furyoku in just seven days. Yoh enters it without thought. Meanwhile, Ryu and Manta were being followed. To not involve him, Ryu tells Manta to go buy something. Ryu battles against two Shamans know who Oversoul. He does the unexpected and merges with Tokageroh, until his master, Yoh's father, interferes and drives the girls off.

This really was a great episode that really didn't have that shounen feeling to it. Shounen animes have a tendency to spread situations, mainly fights, out. Though this episode contains a great amount of content both informative, and philosophical. Ryu's metaphor when talking about the road was rather poetic and beautifully done, and Manta's scene when he's spending his time alone was also executed extremely well. Story development isn't left out, as Yoh has to face a challenge tougher than any of Anna's training programs. And it was a really huge surprise with what Ryu did; becoming a shaman.moreless
