Show Summary

Following the untimely death of his young wife, N.Y.P.D. plainclothes detective Jack Shannon (played by Kojak star Kevin Dobson) moves to San Francisco with his ten-year-old son, Johnny (Charlie Fields). The move serves two purposes-it provides a change of scene to help him get over his grief and, since his wife's parents (the Locatellis (Al Ruscio, Karen Kondazian) ) lives there, it gives him some assistance in the raising of Johnny. With the help of some of his former superiors in New York (which fosters initial resentment) Jack obtains a position with the S.F.P.D. Special Squad of Investigators. Norm White (William Lucking) is his partner and Lt. Moraga (Michael Durrell) is their immediate superior.
