Sherlock Holmes (1965)

Show Summary

Welcome to the Sherlock Holmes (1965) guide at TV.com. BBC Television commissioned a series of adaptations of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes in 1965, following a successful one-off adaptation of The Speckled Band, broadcast as part of the Detective anthology series. Douglas Wilmer played the famous detective, with Nigel Stock as his friend and associate, Dr Watson. The BBC revived the show, as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, with Peter Cushing playing opposite Stock, in 1968.
