Shirley Temple Theatre Season 1 Episode 22

(The Little Mermaid's, Grandmother goes to the Merwitch for help.)
Merwitch: Pearls! (throws the Grandmothers payment aside) She's giving Me pearls!
Zuzu: As your attorney, dear....
Merwitch: (annoyed) Well what does she want!?
Zuzu: (whispers) That's the Merqueen mother I smell a deal.
(The Merwitch stares gleefully at the Grandmother)
Merwitch: The last time you came to me. (smirks) How in love you were...
Grandmother: (nostalgic) I was her age, he was all I wanted. I dreamed of dancing with him across a silver floor.
Merwitch: (glaring at Zuzu) You made that deal! You sold her that potion at a ridiculous low price and then she was too scared to take it! (pouting) So annoying such a waste of my talent's....
Grandmother: She took it! She has suffered, she deserves her happiness.
(Zuzu and the Merwitch laugh hysterically)
Zuzu: Listen Grand-Mama! No one deserves happiness, the lucky ones get it. But the Little Mermaid has been one of the unlucky ones.
Grandmother: I will give you anything if you help her win her prince.
Zuzu: (interested) Anything?
Grandmother: Anything in the Kingdom.
(Zuzu starts whispering in the Merwitch's ear. She shakes her head until he says something.)
Merwitch: Ahh! For once you made a good suggestion. Now stand in the corner (Zuzu frowns) I'll call you!
(Once Zuzu is far enough away the Merwitch turns to the Grandmother.)
Merwitch: I didn't want to ask this question in front of him. He's such a gossip.
Grandmother: (frowns) What question?
Merwitch: Your age, the Truth.
Grandmother: (depressed) 310 years old.
Merwitch: Only 90 years until you die?
Grandmother: Please help her!
Merwitch: (eager) You'd sacrifice anything?
Grandmother: Anything!
Merwitch: I'll take those 90 years! That's rock bottom take it or leave it...(reconsiders) Well I suppose 50 is enough, I don't want to be unfair. After all you want to see your granddaughter live happily?
Grandmother: (scared) My love of life it goes so quickly...
Merwitch: (angry) Just as I thought! You were a coward about your prince, and now your selfish about hers! ZUZU!!!
Zuzu: (hurrys back over) Did she say yes?
Grandmother: (closes eyes) Take your fifty years!
