Showtime Comedy Club Network

Show Summary

Showtime Comedy Club Network is a weekly stand-up comedy improvisation showcase that features comedians, both well-known and those just starting out, in an hour-long comedy extravaganza. Many, if not most, of the best-known comedians in show business today made their appearance at some point on this program, which ran from 1987 to 1999. For many of today's top comedians it was their ticket to success. Comedians Rosie O'Donnell, Mike MacDonald, Monica Piper, Harry Anderson, Tim Allen, Richard Jeni, and Mark Schiff were all featured on the show, just to mention a few. The format was filmed live before a studio audience. The show also spawned regular specials, the Showtime Comedy Club All-Stars, each with a selection of the best comics to appear on the weekly series and hosted live at different comedy clubs across the nation. Directed by Kac Young and Ellen Brown, Showtime Comedy Club Network has featured performances from hundreds of comedians from across the United States.
