Silence of the Heart

Show Summary

Silence of the Heart is a 1984 made-for-TV family drama from director Richard Michaels. 17-year-old Skip Lewis (Chad Lowe) is suffering from depression after getting bad grades in his academic exams and being rejected by Andrea (Alexandra Powers), his high school crush. Lewis concludes that the only way to end his problems is to commit suicide, so he kills himself by driving his car off a cliff. Lewis's parents, Carl (Howard Hesseman) and Barbara (Mariette Hartley), believe that their son's death was an accident and they struggle to cope with their sudden loss. Lewis's sister, Cindy (Dana Hill), however, knows that her brother's death was not an accident and strives to bring her parents out of denial, so that they can all heal.
