A Silicon Valley Community
Sunday 10:00 PM on HBO

Finally, TV's funniest show about the tech revolution in Northern California won't be Bravo's unintentionally hilarious reality show Start Ups: Silicon Valley! Ladies and gentlemen, that title will soon belong to HBO's upcoming series Silicon Valley, a new sitcom that premieres Sunday, April 6. Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-head, Office Space) created the series, which centers on six computer programmers who try to cash in on the tech boom, and the official trailer has already made me an early adopter (tech biz joke).

Okay I'll say it: This will be the best new comedy of the season. It's got a great cast, which includes Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller (The Goodwin Games), Zach Woods (The Office), Martin Starr (Freaks and Geeks, Party Down), and Kumail Nanjiani (Burning Love, Portlandia, Twitter). It has Andy Daly guest-starring as a doctor. It has Mike Judge returning to Office Space-ish environs. It has gangster rap. And it has kids cursing. I'm in!

Who was that kid? He looked very familiar.

This could be fun. I'm down with anything that gives Kumail Nanjiani more screen time. His largely deadpan delivery is always gold to me.

He was easily the best thing about Franklin & Bash.

Thomas Middleditch (Someone Marry Barry)

incredible cast, Martin Starr excluded. only being familiar with him from the office leaves a bad taste in my mouth. that show had a way of making you absolutely hate characters, Gabe being one of them. hopefully his character here is dissimilar enough for me to give him a chance.

So it's Betas with a better cast?

Looks great, I like the whole cast (except for Gabe, I can do without Gabe) and I'm happy they have their own show now instead of just guest spots and small roles in movies. Thomas Middleditch and T.J. Miller in particular.

I don't know what to think. On the one hand the trailer's funny, I like the cast, I like Mike Judge and based on that minute and a half it actually could be the best new comedy of the season. On the other hand though, Tim Surette's really positive about it, that scares and confuses me. Did someone switch up his meds?

Hmm, will it be funny as Office Space?

Martin Starr is under-appreciated in many things that he does, and this looks like a great show for him and really everyone involved. There is a very decent chance that I'll be watching this show.

I love Mike Judge stuff. His observational humor is sharper than most.

I'm in too. This will either be one of those stick around rewarding in joke building comedy's that you pray doesn't get cancelled - like all those before that did - or dry up and leave you thinking it should've been a movie. But if Betas (Huk Tu!) on Amazon can get a run, this has greater hope for better; with proven and decent comedy actors and a great writer for lasting and diverse characters.

They're the ones helping get YouPorn to my phone? Thanks for putting a face to the site guys, now I'll feel even more disgusted while watching.

... Looks cool. I'm basically going to watch for Mike Judge, but the cast seems fine too (TJ Miller hasn't annoyed me yet in that 1:30).
