To get onto the show, the Simons have to make up fake professions and hobbies. Cecilia's are underwater welding and shoe modeling. Rick is a race track florist, and A.J. is a sheppard who writes greeting cards and is teaching mynah birds to speak.
Near the end of the episode, the Simons are racing to the show in a cop car. The cop car changes four times. It starts as a 1970s Dodge, then changes to a 1980s Dodge Diplomat, then to a 1980s Ford Fairmont, and last to a 1980s Chevy.
The Simons go under cover on the game show as the Marlowes. Marlowe is the name of Rick's dog.
During the episode, Rick and A.J. are arrested as the Crestridge Peepers.
Randy Fritz: Cecilia, come on out!
Cecilia Simon: Ready Fritz!
Rick Simon: Andy, tell Fritz what he's won.
A.J. Simon: A free night on the town with your very own P.I.s watching your every move.
Randy Fritz: Turn it off kid, I do.
Rick Simon: Remember, the eagle may soar, but the weasle never gets sucked up into a jet engine.
Rick Simon: We can't watch people, with people watching us watch people.
Special billing is given to Charles Cioffi (Special Guest Star) in this episode.
