Oh, I'm totally a fan of the show. I'm afraid this board is fairly quiet. There was a little bit of discussion several months back, but now, nada.

Here's a discussion topic for anyone who's interested: So far, there's been only one ep of Simon and Simon put out on DVD. It's part of the Magnum, PI season 2 set and a crossover ep, "Ki'is Don't Lie"/"Emeralds Are a Girl's Best Friend". In it, Morgan Fairchild a swindler who rips off one of Higgins' pet charities for a lot of money and he demands Magnum's help to get it back. The Simon boys get involved because she also swindled a Californian art dealer out of a valuable ki'i, a Hawaiian god idol. Higgins and the Simons work out a way to swindle the swindler.

Has anyone seen this crossover? What did you think? Does this bode well for Universal to finally release a Simon and Simon box set?

Simon & Simon was one of a group of mystery shows that I watched over the years. I can mark most of my childhood through episodes of Simon & Simon, Murder, She Wrote, Magnum, P.I., Matlock and (later) Diagnosis Murder. It's great to see that it will soon be out on DVD.

I'm so happy that they have started releasing the show on DVD. I hadn't watched them in years, but I have very fond memories of the show.

I raced through my season one set and enjoyed it so much that I borrowed a friends vhs copies of the series. She had a good number of episodes from seasons three through eight and I am enjoying them immensely!

In the late 1990's I recorded all 156 episodes of Simon and Simon

while they were being broadcast by WGN.  Lately I have been

transferring them to DVD.  It's my favorite TV series.

Season 1 has been released on DVD and possibly season 2 will be released

But I would be very surprised to see the other years released. There is just

so much competition with newer shows.  Many people who are buying TV DVDs

were not born when Simon and Simon began its 8 year run in 1981. So I

don't think we'll ever see all the seasons on DVD.

Once a company commits to putting out a long-running series on DVD, they generally follow through. And Universal's no fly-by-night operation. Simon & Simon may not be as high priority for release dates as some of their other more popular titles, but they'll get around to it. Eventually. What I'm afraid is DVD will be an obsolete technology before they finish up.

Heck, I don't think all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H have been put out yet.

They brought out the Dukes of Hazzard and Remington Steele so I say they will.

I love Simon & Simon.  Watched back then & watch it now.  I watch each episode on Sleuth TV.  They are running through the whole series.  It's like it's the 80s all over again.  Technology has changed so much, it's funny to see some of the equipment they used, compared to today.

MASH is finally complete on DVD, somewhat to the chagrin of the early purchasers. See the MASH forum for more chat.

I had forgotten how much I liked the show until I recently got digital cable and saw it on the Sleuth Channel. Now I tape it every day! Boy, I always did love Jameson Parker! Not that Gerald McCraney was at all hard to look at.
