Mrs. Bartlett, a high school teacher of both brothers, calls upon the Simons to track down missing graduates for a high school reunion. In reality, she wants them to find one former student that she believes is in trouble. It turns out that this man has gotten himself tangled up with a survivalist group that is preparing to launch a military attack.

I really enjoy the portrayal of the relationship between Mrs. Bartlett and Rick. At the beginning, her voice has the power to send him into a flashback of bad high school memories. When AJ agrees to help locate former classmates, but Rick doesn't, she is perfectly willing to blackmail him to force him to agree by informing Cecilia that her elder son was caught smoking in school. And yet, in the end, it's Rick that tells Mrs. Bartlett that they won't accept any payment for locating the former student that she is concerned about. It's also fun to see how the Simons handle the FBI agents by getting them to bring Mrs. Bartlett in for questioningand she intimidates the agents as well.

The episode is also bookended by an entertaining situation of the Simons serving a summons on a member of a biker gang, and the payback that happens at the episode's end.

    Back story revelations:

In high school, Rick was a letterman with a flat top, who was a senior in1962. He figured out how to open his school locker with a series of punches and slaps (a procedure that still works). His high school motto was "Born to Lose," and he dated a girl named Ginny Edwards. He left his name everywhere in the school that he could, and Mrs. Bartlett caught him smoking in the bathroom.

AJ, on the other hand, was much better behaved student, and was a member of the debate team.

Does Lance LeGault ever play a character that isn't a military man working on his own designs?

    Miscellaneous points:

It seems unlikely that one reunion would be for both AJ's class and Rick's class. Also, I have never heard of a high school reunion committee with a faculty supervisor.

AJ: I guess survivalists are big on long driveways.

Rick: Well, it discourages door-to-door salesmen.

    • Cecilia: And how did they rope you into the Time Tunnel?
This is a reference to the short lived TV series, The Time Tunnel (1966). It starred James Darren and Robert Colbert as two scientists who become trapped in time while working on a government project that would allow people to visit any place in the past or future.
