Episode Summary

Child's Play
When it is SAT time at school Tia starts freaking out, but Tamera is taking it easy. When the twins ask Ray Lisa for a tutor, Ray says he should do it. Not happy by this, the twins say they need a real tutor. After finding a tutor, (Tahj Mowry) they get to work. They work all morning and Tia still doesn't feel prepared. So TJ goes to plan B, making them relax. TJ says he missed out on all the fun 'kid' stuff like riding a bike. This tempts Tia, Tamera, and Diavian to help him out. • Tahj!

Tia and Tamera have SATs. They are really nervous and Tia is stressed. Shawna tells them about a tutoring program and she says that she is really comfortable about the SATs, plus, her tutor was a fine college guy. Tia, Tamera and friends decide to get a tutor. It turns out to be a little kid named TJ. TJ notices that Tia is stressed, so he cons them into taking him to Bucky E. Duck's. Tia and Tamera are so relaxed and seem prepared to take the SATs.

This was a great episode! It was cool seeing Tahj Mowry again! I like when siblings cross over to each other's shows once in a while. This episode gets a 10 out of 10!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • T.J. Henderson lives in Washington DC, not Detroit. Why would he tutor somebody living about 600-800 miles away?

    • Tahj Mowry plays TJ Henderson in this episode which is also his character in Smart Guy. But in earlier episodes, he played Tahj, Lisa's nephew; wouldn't they have noticed the faces?

    • Didn't Tia and Tamera get their SAT scores in "Put To the Test," which wouldn't that mean they already took the SATs? It does take a little while to get their scores back, but not 2 years. Also, in this episode they take the SATs and get their scores back, but in "Put To the Test," they only get their scores back.

  • QUOTES (0)

  • NOTES (2)

    • Tia mentions being tutored by Waynehead.

Waynehead is a cartoon that aired on the WB network from October of 1996 to May of 1997 and was inspired by the childhood of its creator, Damon Wayans. Waynehead's full name was Damey Wayne. The title character was voiced by Orlando Brown, who had appeared in the season 4 episode Little Man Date.

    • Bucky Duck is a spin off of Chucky Cheese. The motto 'Where it's fun to be a kid' is also used for Chucky Cheese.

    • Ray: I'm sure T.J.'s a real smart guy.
When the writers wrote this line, they were referring to the television series, Smart Guy which stars Tahj Mowry (Tia & Tamera's real-life little brother). The series is centered around young T.J. Henderson, a 10-year-old child genius who learns that he has been advanced to the tenth grade at his brother and sister's high school. Many people assume that this series was a spin-off of Sister, Sister.

Both shows are executive produced by Suzzanne De Passe, so the line was pretty much added for a laugh for viewers of both shows.
