  • This series is getting better...

    8.5
Again, one of the better episodes this season. Liv has turned out to be quite a good character, and she is certainly is well acted compared to some of the others. I liked the background about her sister being in jail because it felt quite different. Her dilemma with Nick was interesting to watch, obviously even more so when we found out he and Matty were brothers. Which was something of a shock.

I did find Matty and Liv's day of being high and hooking up quite random, but it was entertaining too and I found Matty far less creepy here. The whole pervert/pedophile in the fancy dress shop was slightly odd and pretty unnecessary but I can ignore that. Mini not forgiving Liv was a tiny bit unexpected and the fact that she made her drink all that vodka shows how horrible she is...but Liv did sleep with Nick..

I don't like Franky and here scene about all the 'blame and hate being toxic' was just pretty cringy. Liv's mother was different, if a little annoying. Her little sister was quite funny though. So yeah, some good storylines and character development here. Next week with Nick looks to be fairly intense, I look forward to see more of his character. This season appears to be improving...I'm glad.moreless
  • Strong character development but quite slow.

    7.5
We learn a lot about Liv (Olivia) and there's nothing wrong with that, but the episode is quite slow, mostly involving Liv and Matty, the mysterious boy, meeting and engaging in a day-long binge on drugs and discovery. The episode almost exclusively focuses on the two of them (for about 30 minutes) which is why the episode feels a bit slow/empty. The others in the group are only around for about 10 minutes in total. Mini and Liv seem to be making up and forgetting their differences, but Mini ends up ruining it in the end and Liv won't take it anymore. Meanwhile, nothing really happens with anyone else in the group - Franky, Alo, Rich, Grace. We learn that Matty and Nick are related, making the situation between Mini and Liv all the more awkward and complicated. But not much else happens, other than Liv discovering something, but not much is relayed on screen.moreless
