Sleuth 101

Show Summary

This eight-part series sees host Cal Wilson joined by a different guest comedian each week, who is challenged to solve a crime in front of a live audience. The show is unscripted, with the guest 'detective' given only witness statements, footage flashback and forensic evidence. The victims and suspects are played by some of Australia's best performers, and the suspects must return to the scene of the crime where the guest star will name the murderer (hopefully correctly!) Created by Bruce Kane and Anthony Watt (Spicks and Specks) the show is filmed on location as well as live in the studio and showcases. Executive Producer Anthony Watt explains "It's a whodunit show, but not as we know it. We've thrown in twists, turns, clues, red herrings and the best comic talent this country has seen. It's ruthless, cold-blooded murder with jokes. Solve the crime or just kick back and laugh. Or both."

  • 2010 WAS A YEAR IN WHICH BAD BOYS CAME BACK TO OUR SCREEN (ESPECIALLY ON SEVEN), THERE WERE TOO MANY POLICE DRAMAS AND NOT ENOUGH COMEDIES, PLENTY OF SPIN-OFFS AND FEW NEW FORMATS, DIGITAL CHANNELS WERE BOOMING, AND 3D BECAME A GIMMICK BUT WHERE WAS OUR HD TELEVISION? COOKING CLONES WERE EVERYWHERE, TEN GOT NEW BOSSES, THAT HEY DAD..! SCANDAL BROKE OUT AND WE BID FAREWELL TO LOST AND THE BILL.
