The sliders confront Dr. Geiger again, this time in a collapsing dimension full of innocent victims.
The Sliders are lost in the desert but come upon an archaeological dig. They soon find however, that the dig is unearthing a buried Los Angeles and that the locals consider Rembrandt a deity.
The timer continues to malfunction, giving the sliders rougher slides than usual. To fix it, the sliders need to get a hold of a special gem, even if it means stealing.
A malfunctioning timer deposits the Sliders underwater in the Pacific Ocean. A merchant ship picks them up but is taking them out of their sliding radius and decreasing the likelihood of a safe slide. Their only chance is to join up with a pirate crew to get back to California.
