lois and clark get kidnapped. he makes them take a lie ditector test and makes them show their real feelings. Meanwhile chloe and jimmy search for them. finally when the man asks if lois loves clark he tells her to tell the truth and she says YES!!!!!! Clark doesnt have a chance to say how he really feels because he stops him before he can answer. later when they are at work lois says she was just predending because she took the finger thing off. he looks disapponted. they should just admit that they love each other. but clark needs to get over lana in order to do that.

  • The ideal episode for Clois fans, everyone admitting their faults (mostly), and we finally get a little taste of Clark and Lois' relationship. Plus the whole Jimmy/Chloe scene was amusing.

The first thing that sticks in my mind was that fact that Lois admits she loves Clark. I mean, even I thought while it was too soon, it was still adorable. We never really got the sense that she loved him, just liked him a lot. The only thing that wrecked it was that we never got Clark's answer about if he loved Lois. The agony! Plus seeing his face when she said yes was priceless. And the whole idea behind the madman's torture of newlyweds was understandable. A man dumped because his wife betrayed him? Most people would just kill her, but this guy goes on a rampage against engaged couples, considering his shock torture as couple's therapy. It was also really sweet to see Jimmy and Chloe evolve as a couple, before I wouldn't have said that they had too much of a future, but now I can say if you truly want someone to live, you tell the truth no matter how harmful it can be. Still, it was a filler episode and had no real plot other than getting the audience to see that there was a possibility to the Lois and Clark future.moreless

Recap: After celebrating their engagement with friends and family, Chloe and Jimmy are sedated and kidnapped. The next morning, Lois awakens to find herself at the Kent farm, hungover. Later, at the Talon, Lois and Clark find Chloe and Jimmy's empty apartment, while elsewhere, the couple find themselves hooked up to electrically charged lie detectors. The kidnapper asks them about any secrets they've been keeping from each other, while Lois and Clark investigate Chloe and Jimmy's disappearance, as well the disappearance of several other couples. When they discover that each couple used the same three wedding vendors, they pose as a couple themselves, and interview each vendor, including a jeweler and a baker. Eventually, Chloe and Jimmy pass the kidnapper's test and are set free, just as the kidnapper abducts Lois. With Chloe and Jimmy's help, Clark deduces that the kidnapper is a jeweler named Macy, and speeds off to rescue Lois. However, he's weakened by Macy's kryptonite bracelet and is captured, then he and Lois are subjected to the lie detector test. Meanwhile, Tess agrees to a date with Oliver.

My Review: Well, Clois fans have prayed, and The Powers That Be have finally shown they've been listening. The result: the most Clois-laden episode of the eighth season. In fact, viewers practically need a steel umbrella to get through all the falling Clois anvils. Thankfully, though, Clois devotees are always prepared in such situations and have plenty of umbrellas to pass around. :) All joking aside, though, I have a couple of nitpicks. As much as I liked Clark taking care of Lois during her hangover, I was confused when he mentioned that she was "in no condition to get behind the wheel." I mean, Lois lives with Chloe and Jimmy at the Talon, which is where the engagement party was held. Therefore, Clark could have simply carried Lois upstairs and put her to bed without having to worry about her driving. Also, why did Chloe and Jimmy step outside after the party, and why did they park their cars where the police would tow them? Oh, well. Again, they're nitpicks, so I can look past them. However, things I can't look past: how contrived Macy seemed as a character (what's the character version of "plot device"?) and how Tess coldly messed with Oliver's feelings. I mean, I get that she's mad 'cause of his roving eye, but he seemed sincere in his intentions towards her. She should've given him another chance, but maybe that's just my opinion. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed COMMITTED, so much so that I give it nine-and-a-half engagement rings out of ten.

Highlights: Lois and Clark's interaction at the engagement party; Lois waking up at the Kent farm and Clark taking care of hungover Lois; Lois and Clark visiting the Talon apartment; Lois "proposing" to Clark; Lois and Clark posing as a couple; Tess and Oliver's sparring match before their date; Chloe and Jimmy finding themselves back at the Talon; Clark trying to rescue Lois; Lois admitting she loves Clark; Clark knocking out Macy and freeing Lois; and Lois and Clark in the elevator.moreless

  • Relationships, relationships, relationships.

Since this episode was completely about relationships, then let's talk about them! First off, the most boring one:
Chloe - Jimmy. I really like them as a couple and I really like that Chloe has found someone like Jimmy, but their scenes in this episode are just to cheesy... I dare say they were a little pathetic. I really don't understand why Chloe doesn't want to tell him about her new power. Doesn't she know better by now?
    Next:
Tess - Oliver. I kinda felt sorry for Ollie when she told him he was just scratching her itch, but still, I think Tess was great. It would be ridiculous if we saw her all whiny and in love. I think they are an interesting couple and I am anxious to see how things will turn out between them.
And last, but certainly not least:
Lois - Clark. One word can describe the interaction between the two in this episode - BRILLIANT! All of their scenes were fun and not boring for a moment! Two of them are the reason I gave this ep a 10, (I'm a sucker for Lois!). My favorite scene would be the one when they tell Oliver they are getting married. That was hilarious! As for Lois actually confessing that she loves Clark, I think it was Erica's best performance so far in Smallville... Too bad Lois got away with it though...moreless
