Chloe: Blacklisted before I even graduate. That's got to be a record.
Max: I don't know who you ticked off around here, but you sure ruffled some feathers.
Chloe: Well, I have enemies in high places.
Sheriff Adams: Miss Sullivan, would you care to shed any light on Mr. Kent's version of the incident?
Chloe: What, you mean the part where I wasn't eating pavement?
Sheriff Adams: Well, Mr. Kent, your family sure has its way of going through vehicles.
Adam: So you're Clark. Heard a lot about you.
Clark: Didn't realize there was that much to say.
Adam: I was sort of thinking about staying in Smallville.
Lana: Why?
Adam: Owww. That hurt.
Adam: Arrgh. You're driving me nuts. I can see how strong you are. Then for some stupid reason you retreat into this hurt-little-girl facade. It's ridiculous.
Lana: This is your way of ending things on better terms?
Lex: I'm starting to get a complex. Seems all the women I find even remotely appealing turn out to be psychopaths.
Molly: Birds of a feather.
Lana: So, what do you think?
Adam: I think Norman Bates would be right at home here.
Lana: Not exactly the tenant I had in mind.
Clark: You went to Lionel because I pushed you away. Seems to be one of my hidden talents lately.
Chloe: It's not so hidden.
Dr. Garner: Lex, you're a smart man. You know that the line has to be bent now and then in order to make progress.
Lex: I believe there's a difference between bent and broken.
John Glover is credited but doesn't appear.
Music: So Damn Lucky (Dave Matthews), Try (Nelly Furtado), The Reason (Hoobastank)
Injoke: Martha's email address is CHN320@instamail.org. CHN320 was the license plate of the General Lee on The Dukes of Hazzard, featuring her co-star John Schneider.
Pete: I guess the Grinch changed his mind.
Referencing the classic Dr. Seuss story and subsequent television adaptation, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grinch is an unpleasant grouch who hates the holidays, and resolves to steal Christmas. When he steals all of the holiday presents and food but almost loses them over a cliff, his heart "grows three that day" with love and he finds the strength to save them.
Adam: I think Norman Bates would be right at home here.
Referencing the 1960 movie Psycho, which initially chronicles the exploits of a secretary embezzling money from her employer. She hides at an isolated motel owned by Norman Bates, who likes to stuff animals. He claims to have a mother who lives in the house at the top of the hill, but it is eventually revealed that she is a figment of Norman's delusional mind, and he dresses up like her to kill anyone who offends "Mother."
