Trivia: It's revealed that Clark is immune to the effects of alcohol.
In the end where Geoff wants to kill Lois by drowning her, he says he wants to kill her quickly, but puts her face up where it's going to take her an extra 15 minutes to die.
When Coop dies, none of the monitors he's hooked up to give any kind of alert even though it's clear they're still on him, registering his heart beat, etc. (In the DVD version they added his heart monitor registering his flatlining.)
Lois is somehow able to visit the hospital room of her "victim," an individual she supposedly attacked and paralyzed. No hospital or police would let her near the person she's accused of attacking and there's no indication she sneaked in.
Clark was afraid a physical might expose his secret. To join a sports team you have to take a physical - how did Clark take and pass his when he joined the high school team?
Among the "Canada-isms," when they were in the streets of Metropolis, there was a TD Waterhouse in the background. Toronto Dominion Bank doesn't have a branch in Kansas. Also at one point a Canadian postal truck (easily identified by its red color) drove by going the other direction.
Lois Shouldn't you be in pink elephant land right about now?
Coop: I got another game for you. Only this time, we both win. Come on, baby, give me some.
Lois: I've got a game for you, Football. It's called hide and go seek. You go hide, and I'll count to a billion. Ready, set, go.
Coop: Oh, come on! Don't be like that!
Lois: You got a girlfriend, bonehead, go bug her.
Coop: Come on!
(Coop lays a hand on her shoulder, but Lois knocks him to the ground)
Lois: Now, don't you think hide and seek would've been a little more fun?
Jason: Lana, the more Lex uses me, the more I get to use him and find out what he really knows.
Lana: Okay, but that's just more secrets and more lies and at some point, it's all gonna blow up in our faces.
Jason: Well, unfortunately when dealing with people like Lex and my mother, honesty isn't necessarily the way to go.
Geoff: (about Lois) I can't tell you how to pick your friends, Clark, but that chick seems like trouble.
Clark: I'm starting to figure that out.
Martha: Clark... I know how difficult it is to give up something you love.
Jonathan: But this decision you've made, son, it shows integrity well beyond your years.
Clark: Then why don't I feel good about it?
Clark: If you want, I guess you can stay with us.
Lois: You're a lifesaver! God, am I in need of a hot shower! Don't worry, Smallville. I'll try to keep it under a half hour.
(Lois leaves, leaving Clark confused)
Clark: What just happened?
Chloe: How did you post bail?
Lois: Four very good friends of mine: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Clark: Lois. Whoever thought I'd be relieved to hear your voice.
Lana: Who the hell do you think you are?
Lex: Something bothering you, Lana?
Lois: Maybe someone close to Coop knows something we don't.
Chloe: Lois, I don't think that Grandma Betty from Topeka is going to have the answer.
Chloe: I'm proud of you, Clark.
Clark: You're proud of me? Why?
Chloe: I just have a feeling that you're destined to do a lot more in this world than just score touchdowns.
Clark: Chloe, you've been saying a lot of weird things to me lately. What makes you think I'm destined to do anything.
Chloe: Just a hunch.
The outside shot of the domed Metropolis U stadium is actually the skyline of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The stadium shown is the Humbert H. Humphrey Metrodome, home to the Minnesota Vikings.
Another "Canadism" - the football field used as Metropolis U stadium is BC Place in Vancouver, a CFL (Canadian Football League) field. It's 110 yards instead of the normal 100 in the NFL and NCAA.
Erica Durance is not credited in the opening or guest credits in the episode's original airing. In syndication, she is given a "Special Guest Star" credit.

Lois: Shouldn't you be in pink elephant land right about now?
Referencing the Disney movie Dumbo (1941) where at one point, the title character accidentally gets drunk and has a nightmare about pink elephants.
Lois: I could ask you the same question, but it seems fairly obvious, Hef.
Hugh Hefner is the creator of the adult magazine Playboy. He is well-known for his mansion and his many girlfriends.
Geoff: calling Clark "C.K." as a nickname.
A writers' allusion to the TV series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, where Jimmy Olsen's nickname for Clark was C.K.
Geoff Johns is the name of a writer for DC Comics. He currently writes Flash, Green Lantern, JSA and many other comic books.
