  • A STANDING OVATION IS IN ORDER

Smash's Season Finale: A Star Is Born

This series has so thoroughly entertained me, and touched me, and engaged my mind in a way no other NBC series—hell, no other network series—has done since I was a teenager.

  • Episode Summary

As opening night approaches, Rebecca Duvall is replaced by an ensemble member; Dev's job opportunity threatens the outcome of Bombshell; Frank and Julia must push their discrepancies aside while "Bombshell" opens on Broadway; Lyle returns with bad news.

Ok, the numbers are beautiful, actors are great, singing is perfect, but the storylines are terribly boring. For me as a professional actor it was so much fun to relate to the rehearsing process, all the backstabbing behind the scenes, jerky director with a good heart .... yep, that's nice. But except the cheating (Ivy slept with Dev - Karen's fiance and she even admitted it to her in this episode) I feel like there is no storyline to return to. I am not saying I won't check out the new season, but if the storytelling doesn't improve I am not on board anymore. 7,5/10moreless

What an excellent last episode to a brilliant season. Soo enjoyed this show all the songs, dances and storylines were just terrific to watch each week. The chemistry between the characters of Karen and Derek had been terrific all season but in this last episode the actors were soo lovely to watch. The whole cast should be commended they were all brilliant. The final song truly did deserve a standing ovation. Cannot wait till Season 2.moreless

I absolutely loved the season finale - I've been on Team Karen since the first episode. I really loved the Marilyn Monroe death scene. There were a couple of shots wherein Karen looked very much like Marilyn Monroe and when she sung the reprise of Second Hand White Baby Grand, you can feel the melancholy and vulnerability in her voice. Her rendition of the final song, Don't Forget Me, deserved a standing ovation as well.moreless

This episode was so awesome! I absolutely adored the chemistry between Derek and Karen, and I can not wait to see what happens in season 2.

And OMG Julia's pregnant! :D Best story line so far, I reeeeeally hope it's Michaels!

God, I NEED season 2 NOW!
